‘SERAPH: In the Darkness’ Showcases Successful Game Economics in Closed Testing

The Web3 gaming sector is poised for a promising future in 2024, with a variety of games expanding its horizons. Among these gaming projects is “SERAPH: In the Darkness,” an immersive dark-themed ARPG built on the Arbitrum One blockchain. Recently concluding its third round of closed testing, known as the “Chaos Legacy Test,” the game has garnered attention from players for its innovative gameplay mechanics and economic model.

Testing Results and Engagement

During the 30-day Chaos Legacy Test that commenced on November 22, SERAPH underwent a rigorous evaluation to assess its economic structure and gameplay. The development team sought feedback and continuously refined the game, leading to increased engagement and positive player retention. They say that over 5,400 accounts were activated and 10,000 characters created, with SERAPH demonstrating its engaging nature and long playtime potential.

Furthermore, SERAPH reports strong player retention rates, highlighting game appeal with day-2 retention at 89.45%, day-14 at 45.37%, and day-30 at 33.52%.

Global Appeal and Market Acceptance

Drawing from the classic dark-themed ARPGs of the golden era, SERAPH presents a variety of gameplay features like equipment gathering, refinement, and character development, combined with modern MMO elements such as Leaderboard Rankings, PvP battles, and multiplayer collaborations.

SERAPH’s appeal transcended borders, with players predominantly hailing from the Greater China region and the Chinese-speaking community. The game also gained traction in Southeast Asia, South America, North America, and Europe, indicating its growing international appeal.

Future Plans and Integration

Looking ahead, SERAPH aims to enhance the gaming experience by integrating inscriptions based on the Bitcoin ecosystem. A new series of PFP NFTs will also be introduced, catering to the diverse player base and strengthening the game’s economic model. These developments aim to bridge the gap between Web3 enthusiasts and traditional gamers, fostering a sustainable and inclusive gaming economy.

SERAPH, supported by Korean gaming titan Actoz Soft, offers an immersive medieval fantasy setting combined with classic ARPG gameplay. With a free-to-play model and play-to-earn opportunities, SERAPH could appeal to both Web2 and Web3 gamers.
