Lady Ape NFTs Among the Top 10 Collections on OpenSea Within a Week

While many think the current crypto winter is not the best time to launch an NFT project, the Lady Ape Club (LAC) presents a different view. Just a few days after listing on OpenSea, the new Lady Ape NFTs became among the top 10 collections by 24-hour trading volume on OpenSea.

On July 25, 2022, the LAC’s 24-hour volume exceeded 210 ETH, surpassing the popular Mutant Ape Yach Club (MAYC) collection on OpenSea. This hike in volume represents users’ appetite to buy the Lady Apes following the sale of 9,000 NFTs in four hours on STRMNFT — the new marketplace that held LAC’s initial sale.

LAC is a new NFT collection illustrated by the artists of TNC Group, one of UAE’s blockchain consultant pioneers. This collection comprises 10,000 unique female apes artwork, which from first sight, they look like an ideal companion to the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC).

A few weeks after its inception last May, the LAC project announced its plans to list 9,000 NFTs for initial sale on STRMNFT. As the new collection was gaining more popularity, TNC Group opened a limited-time pre-sale booking on STRMNFT for a selected group of users. This booking allowed users to get one random LAC NFT before the sale opened.

However, as the pre-sale was only available for 48 hours, many users started requesting an extended period to have enough time to secure their Lady Apes. As a result, the pre-sale was extended to July 16, only two days before the sale.

The initial sale went live on STRMNFT on July 18 at 9:00 AM GST. Within four hours, all the 9,000 available Lady Apes were sold out. Afterward, LAC hosted a timed auction for 90 special edition Lady Apes, which they also sold out the following day.

Finally, on July 19, the LAC achieved a significant milestone by listing 700 unique LAC NFTs on OpenSea. These apes went for an auction for about 48 hours, where all the 700 were sold out for OpenSea users.

Nonetheless, the LAC NFTs selling out on OpenSea only contributed to the hype for these new apes. On its 6th day of listing, LAC became the 8th most traded collection in 24 hours. This volume is considered a relatively impressive number considering that only 700 NFTs are available to trade.

As the LAC project is still new in the space, it lays down some members-only benefits for its holders. One of the top benefits includes the ability to ‘breed’ a Baby Ape NFT using additional digital items like DNA and Super DNA. Moreover, according to the project’s roadmap, a Dubai-based yacht party for the LAC members will also be held soon.

In addition to 9,090 NFTs on STRMNFT and 700 on OpenSea, the project has allocated the remaining NFTs to different members. Therefore, the 220 remaining Lady Apes will be distributed as follows: 100 for partner influencers, 100 for the BAYC holders, and 10 reserved by the team.
