What is Utan’Clan about?
The main characters of Utan’Clan are currently 6 (10 in the future) real orangutans living in Borneo and Sumatra: Mona, Victoria, Banir, Hope, Mamat and Siboy. Within the NFT project, the orangutans live on the fictional play island: Utan’Clan World.
Orangutans are by definition scarce
NFTs are all about scarcity… which is exactly what true orangutans are. There are currently only 65,000 orangutans left in the entire world. Through Utan’Clan everyone gets the chance to support (and own) a real orangutan.
Blockchain game: digitally connected to real orangutans
The team is currently working on a blockchain game that revolves around orangutans. The great thing is that real content from the adoption centers can be used in the project. Through NFTs, you are digitally connected to a real orangutan.

In this case yes! Utan’Clan is launched in Aurora. Aurora is an Ethereum Virtual Machine created by the team at the NEAR Protocol with a high-throughput, scalable and future-safe platform, with low transaction costs for their users. In short, it works the same as Ethereum, but with many advantages. NEAR Protocol has been Awarded the Climate Neutral Product Label and Utan’clan has been granted by Aurora to launch on their blockchain.
Orangutan Rescue Foundation
The Utan’Clan team has built a good relationship with Orangutan Rescue. Orangutan Rescue protects the orangutan and its habitat. On Borneo, they support the Sintang Orangutan Center in West Kalimantan, among others. In Sumatra they support the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme.

Utan’Clan naturally shows many comparisons with BAYC, one of the largest and best-known NFT projects in the world. However, BAYC has become a project for the rich and wealthy people. BAYC has become a status symbol. Utan’Clan NFT makes a status symbol of real orangutans by connecting them to NFTs.
