One of the biggest sneaker moments of the Chicago season was when Scottie Pippen stepped on the court with a pair of Jordan 10. The goal was to get Michael Jordan back on the court after an early retirement during the 1994-95 season. Pippen wore the Air Jordan 10 to entice Michael Jackson back on the court. Today, the Hall of Famer and Orange Comet, the Web3 design firm, has created an NFT collection, including physical and digital sneakers (“Metawear”). The Pippen line will be launched exclusively on OpenSea on December 20, 2022 and will be a limited edition of 1,000.

SP33 NFT is the brainchild of Scottie Pippen and Orange Comet. The project features 1000 unique digital sneakers. Each pair of sneakers features Orange Comet’s 3D animations and a digital art “mystery box.” From Pippen’s early days to his time with Chicago, his sneaker collection consist of three pillars:
-Futurist
-Modern Day
-Transcendent
Each classification will feature 3D animations and be compatible with just about any virtual ecosystem. Also, 33 lucky NFT holders will receive an autographed pair of physical sneakers. According to Orange Comet, the prototype will serve as a trial for future releases. Additionally, all 1000 holders will receive an OC designer “Mystery Box,” which will yield “something special” down the road.

From humble beginnings in Arkansas, Scottie Pippen went from team manager/walk-on college player at Central Arkansas to become one of the best small forward to ever play the game of basketball.
He was instrumental to Chicago winning 6 pro basketball championships and as an Olympian, he won 2 Gold Medals as a key member of the 1992 & 1996 iconic United States national basketball teams. During his 17 year pro career, he was a 7x All-Star and named 10x to the annual All-Defensive teams.
He was named one of the greatest basketball players of ALL-TIME as part of the league’s 75th Anniversary Team. Scottie Pippen was immortalized as legend in 2010 when he was inducted to the Basketball Hall of Fame.
As Pippen’s career skyrocketed and his trophy collection grew, so did his love of sneakers and fans’ interest in his on-court kick game.
