Lost your car in the Metaverse? No worries. Three car hire companies, Alamo, Enterprise and National, have just joined the list of companies to file metaverse trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
According to a recent tweet by the insightful Mike Kondoudis, the filing took place on the 9th of November.
The filing includes incentive rewards and special promos in the Metaverse, that can be exchanged for merchandise in both the real-world and virtual worlds. It also provides for retail activities concerning digital collectibles, such as virtual vehicles.
Another filing by the umbrella company includes trademarks for downloadable digital files in the form of non-fungible tokens that verify authentication. Proposed digital collectibles will compromise digital transport and auto parts for virtual experiences in virtual worlds.
Other multimedia files included in the filling are artwork, videos related to virtual vehicles, and downloadable computer programs related to automobiles in the metaverse.

Afterthoughts
Although we are being inundated with news of crypto companies going bust, the long-term view for NFTs relating to the Metaverse looks very bright.
