SNEAKMART LAUNCHES ‘METAKICKS’ FOR THE METAVERSE

French startup Sneakmart is launching 6250 stylish ‘Metakicks’ – digital sneakers – to be minted on the Ethereum blockchain.

For their debut NFT launch, Sneakmart will partner up with StockX, a leading global secondary marketplace for sneakers.

The collection comprises 15 unique 3D-animated sneaker designs, featuring a 3D animated background and various shapes, textures, materials, and colours. The 15 designs will be sold through Metakicks ‘boxes’ in Rare, Super Rare, Epic, and Legendary forms.

Metakicks will enable holders to customize their virtual avatars and unlock various benefits in the physical and digital world.

In addition to digital sneakers, Sneakmart is providing 625 ‘mystery boxes’, which will enable buyers a 10% chance of winning limited edition physical sneakers.

The Metakicks NFT drop will feature over $200,000 worth of physical sneakers prizes, with winners being able to choose their size and the international delivery of the physical sneakers will be handled by StockX.

Football Star prizes

Models of physical sneakers include the latest Jordan ‘1 High’, Nike ‘Dunk Low’, Adidas ‘Yeezy 350’’, and two pairs of Jordan ‘1 Dior’. Furthermore, there will be two pairs of rare sneakers representing Michael Jordan’s collaboration with Travis Scott.

Sneakmart has recruited some high-profile football stars to lend their creativity to the project. A few of the players involved are Didier Droga, Kinsley Coman, and Marco Verratti, who all created unique 1-of-1 editions of personalized Metakicks.

Lucky owners of these unique Metakicks will be able to redeem additional benefits, including access to signed items, VIP game access and meet-and-greet sessions.

Sneakmart aims to leverage the traction of its existing mobile streetwear app as it launches its NFTs for the metaverse.

The start-up follows in the footsteps of RTFKT Studios, whose inaugural collection of digital sneakers raked in $3.1 million for the project. As pioneers in the digital sneakers space, RTFKT Studios were subsequently bought by Nike, and released a collaboration called ‘Cryptokicks’.

Sneakmart said in their press release: “Through the tokenization of sneakers, Sneakmart aims to reach a growing global audience of sneaker collectors and NFT enthusiasts. The Metakicks NFTs will be usable in the Metaverse of the future and provide holders with access to new offers, derivative products, physical sneakers, etc.”

As part of their roadmap, the team plans to internationalize its mobile application, adding unique features and introducing new collections and long-term benefits for Metakicks owners.

Also in their plans, Sneakmart will launch a series of 1-of-1 Metakicks collaborations with various brands and Web3 communities.

The first truly unique pair of Metakicks was designed by Savoir Faire Paris, and grants the NFT holder access to a one-off pair of ‘White Coffee Latte’ Jordan digital sneakers.
