Wladimir Klitschko to Release NFT Collection for Charity

The Klitschko brothers are among the most famous and recognizable Ukrainians, and Wladimir releases NFT collection to help support relief efforts during the Ukraine war

Global Support for Ukraine through NFTs

Over the last two weeks, the #Ukrainewar or #Russianinvasion has been the top news topic worldwide, and it doesn’t matter what your sentiments are about the current situation, there’s no denying that the people that are losing the most are innocent civilians that have nothing to do with the war.

Amazingly, the Web3, NFT, and metaverse-world have come together to support the Ukrainian fight against Russian aggression in a way that’s never been seen before, and it is nothing short of awe-inspiring.

People are investing in NFTs to donate proceeds to aid the fight without considering the future of related projects. On 2 March 2022, an NFT of the Ukrainian flag was sold for an impressive $6.75 million. Additionally, NFT-related donations have poured in from Web3 enthusiasts worldwide, and it’s estimated that as of 8 March 2022, the total crypto-related contributions towards Ukraine have surpassed $50 million.

The overwhelming support by the NFT community has proven that there’s a considerable amount of depth to this community. NFTs are more than flimsy cash grabs many NFT skeptics try to claim; the NFT community is made up of real people trying to make the most of the Web3 economy. It’ll be exciting to see how much more support the NFT community offers to Ukraine during March.

Vandalz for Ukraine: WhIsBe x Wladimir Klitschko

As part of the efforts to ease the Ukrainian pain, Wladimir Klitschko, former two-time World Heavyweight champion, teamed up with WhIsBe, a New York City-based artist, to create a collection that’ll launch on OpenSea on Wednesday, 9 March 2022.

WhIsBe has an NFT collection called “Vandal Gummy,” and this collection features gummy bears in colorful police lineup pictures. WhIsBe has re-fashioned his Vandal Gummy project, and the collaboration with Wladimir will feature four NFT editions of Gummy Bears in blue and yellow, the colors of the Ukrainian flag.

The Vandalz for Ukraine: WhIsBe x Wladimir Klitschko collection is available at different price points, including $100, $1,000, and $10,000 Vandalz for Ukraine NFTs. For one lucky consumer, there’s the opportunity to acquire a 1-of-1 NFT valued at $1 million.

Vitali & Wladimir: Klitschko’s never back down from a fight

The Klitschko brothers are world-famous for their boxing success in the heavyweight division, and if there’s one certain thing, it’s that the Klitschko brothers are always willing to fight for what they believe in.

Vitali Klitschko is currently the mayor of Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital, and when asked about why he and his brother stayed behind to fight when they could have easily fled the country, the brothers had the following to say, “Where should we go? This is our home. Our parents are buried here. Children go to school here. Where else? Why should we flee?”

As the NFT collection launches, it’ll be available from 9 March, and it’s a reputable avenue for anyone interested to donate towards a cause. All proceeds from this project go to Red Cross Ukraine and UNICEF.
