World renowned Spanish artist Domingo Zapata has teamed up with fashion icon Sita Abellan to launch a collection of 8888 Panda NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain.
Zapata’s acclaimed panda art series, owned by celebrities and collectors around the globe, will be unleashed upon the Web3 realm in June 2022, with auctions also taking place in June.
Famed techno DJ and stylist Sita will personally design 50 of the Pandas, which represent one of Zapata’s most iconic collections.
A renowned personality, Sita has invited some of her notable friends, including Balvin and Anitta, to join the minting process. Sita will be styling bespoke Panda NFTs after these artists which they will own.
Sita said: “Domingo is an artist I have admired for many years, someone pushing boundaries and moving between the traditional and cutting edge, plus a fellow Spaniard.
“This is my first experiment in the metaverse, but it was a great one for me, bringing my real world skills of styling into the digital universe. I am excited to do more in this sphere, as it feels like it is pushing the limits, which is always part of my approach.”
Neo expressionist Zapata has earned a glowing reputation and his Mona Lisa Bullfighter was recently auctioned by Sotheby’s for over $1 million USD.
The popular artist has been involved in multiple fashion projects with renowned brands and created lines for New York and Los Angeles fashion weeks.
In 2018, Zapata collaborated with Pope Francis to create a mural celebrating immigrants. Moreover, he recently completed a 45-foot mural for the Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New York City; the largest mural at a Children’s Hospital ever painted.
Zapata said: “I have been a big fan of Sita for many, many years. She is spectacular and incredible. There are no words to describe how artistic her styling is.”
“For me it’s an honor to work with her. The result is what I expected. Purely amazing”.
The collaboration between two artistic geniuses of the modern era promises to be memorable. Sita has previously collaborated with major brands such as Fendi and Nike, and celebrities ranging from Kim Kardashian to J Balvin.
Recently, she styled the video for Brazilian superstar Annita’s ‘Boys Don’t Cry’, which has garnered 15 million views on YouTube.
