Ledger Unveils New Hardware Wallet For NFTs

Leading crypto hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger has unveiled a new device for NFTs. The device, dubbed Ledger Stax, features a large touch screen and is easier to use compared to previous versions. According to Ledger, users will be able to manage NFT collections and over 500 crypto coins on the device.

To create the device, Ledger teamed up with Tony Fadell, the designer of the iPod. It features a curved E-Ink display that will show the artwork of your choice even when it’s off. Additionally, it uses a USB Type-C connection for linking with laptops. There is also a Bluetooth option that can be used to connect to the Ledger Live Mobile app on smartphones. Also, it supports wireless Qi charging.

In a press release, Pascal Gauthier, CEO and Chairman of Ledger notes, “With the Ledger Nano series, we created the most successful digital asset security hardware of all time—with more than 5 million sold and none ever hacked.”

Before adding;

 “Digital assets are increasingly about identity and digital ownership, not just crypto like Bitcoin. The time is now for a device for more mainstream users. At the same time, we must not compromise on security.”

The Hardware Wallet For NFTs Will Be Available In 2023

The device is set to debut in the first quarter of 2023. Each piece will come with an Infinity Pass, which will grant users a free NFT with future utility. Additionally, users can mint Ledger Stax NFTs using the Ledger Market. One that offers access to exclusive NFT artwork from the company’s network of hand-picked artists.

On his involvement, Fadell notes that Ledger’s proven track record was the key to his joining the team. It was this that persuaded him to contribute to the development of the next-generation hardware wallet for NFTs.

“We need a user-friendly…no! A ‘user-delightful’ tool, to bring digital asset security to the rest of us, not just the geeks.”

The launch comes a month after the FTX fiasco, which saw many individuals lose their life savings. It’s a timely reminder of the essence of holding your own private keys.
