Paris Saint-Germain and Jay Chou Launch Collection of 10,000 ‘Tiger Champs’ NFTS

French football giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has launched 10,000 Tiger Champs NFTs at CRYPTO.COM/NFT in collaboration with Taiwanese superstar Jay Chou.

The collaboration, which marks the inaugural partnership between PSG and CRYPTO.COM, commemorates PSG’s 10th Ligue 1 championship win last season.

This latest NFT collection by PSG constitutes its third venture into the world of NFTs and aims to combine football, music, and Chou’s love for the French capital.

Fabien Allègre, Chief brand officer at Paris Saint-Germain said: “The club is continuing its foray into the world of NFTs with a collection that combines music and football. We are delighted to see the results of this first collaborative project with Jay Chou, a loyal friend of the club and patron of the Paris Saint-Germain endowment fund.”

“It is the first time that we have made such a large collection of NFTs available to fans of the club and of Jay Chou worldwide. With time, these NFTs will find their usefulness within our common ground project in the metaverse.”

Among the 10,000 Tiger Champs NFTs, ten unique Tiger Champs Legends will each depict one of the ten championships won by France’s most decorated club.

These ten Legends will mimic one of Chou’s favourite poses – the V sign (“V for Victory”) – while their left hand is holding the 2021/2022 Hexagoal trophy. The background for the Tiger Champs Legends NFTs features graffiti artwork.

The 1,970 Tiger Champs Premium NFTs will exhibit ten different player celebrations. Also, visible on the top right, you will see the Parisian star, which represents the ten French championship titles won by the club.

The tigers in the Tiger Champs Premium NFTs are adorned in the 2021/2022 season home and away strips.

Finally, the 8,020 standard Tiger Champs NFTs show the tiger making the “I love you” sign.

The NFTs are randomly generated using rarity features like the tiger’s pose, clothes, accessories, and backgrounds featuring famous Parisian landmarks. A combination of around 100 criteria guarantees that each owner will hold a completely unique NFT.

Performer Jay Chou is a highly versatile artist, with hundreds of millions of fans in Asia and a deep connection with Paris. He is a singer, songwriter, film director, actor, art collector, presenter, and magician.

He said: “It is an honour to continue my collaboration with Paris Saint-Germain. Football and music have the ability to break down barriers, whether geographical or linguistic.”

“This NFT project will give fans the chance to win tickets to my concert in Paris next year. I am delighted to act as a bridge between Chinese and western cultures and to promote the values of inclusion and solidarity.”

The launch of this series goes hand-in-hand with an NFT loyalty scheme. In addition to the opportunity for purchasers to be allocated an NFT at random, 10% of them will also receive a special gift connected with the series.

The Tiger Champs collection follows PSG’s previous two NFT drops, ‘Lucky Buddy’ in April 2021 and the recently-launched ‘The Ballon d’Or #7’.

Jay Chou shot to stardom in 2000 with his album ‘Jay’ and hasn’t looked back since, even breaching the gates of Hollywood with recent appearances in ‘The Green Hornet’ and ‘Now You See Me: The Second Act.’

In mid-July, he will present his new album and another NFT collection in collaboration with PSG.

This continues CRYPTO.COM’s affiliation with major brands and celebrities, which has already garnered collaborations with the likes of Aston Martin, Formula One Team, BossLogic, Boy George, Lega Serie A, Lionel Richie, Mr. Brainwash, Snoop Dogg, and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
