Draft Kings delves deeper into Web3

DraftKings is one of the most successful sports betting platforms in the world, and they are ready to become one of the integral Polygon validators.

DraftKings: A decade of Innovation

DraftKings is an American sports betting company; users on this platform can enter into daily and weekly sports contests to win money. One of the exciting features of DraftKings is they focus a considerable amount of their resources on fantasy sports. Users of DraftKings can run fantasy teams and earn points based on the performance of real-world players across a wide area of sports, including the NFL in North America, UEFA Champions League in Europe, Mixed Martial Arts worldwide, and more.

Another thing that makes DraftKings stand out is their marketing; many of us reading this piece might be familiar with the DraftKings brand even if we have no interest in sports betting. Marketing campaigns by this company have made it stand out from the crowd and attract a wider audience. After its launch in 2010, DraftKings has solidified its place as one of the most reliable and innovative companies in the USA and worldwide.

DraftKings launched the DraftKings Sportsbook in New Jersey in August 2018, and over the last four years, it has expanded to more than eight states in the USA. Since October 2021, Draftkings, with the help of Zero Hash, has been working on a plan that’ll make it a key player in the Web3 world.

DraftKings is a Polygon Validator and NFT Powerhouse

On Monday, March 7, 2022, DraftKings announced their partnership with Zero Hash, a digital asset startup, and this partnership is aimed at making DraftKings a Polygon Validator. This collaboration will make it one of Polygon’s largest governors.

Paul Liberman, DraftKings head of global tech and product, had the following to say concerning the partnership, “Participating in validation supports DraftKings’ broader strategy of building out a robust, sustainable, trustworthy and decentralized infrastructure to help future-proof aspects of our business in the Web 3 era.”

Draftkings has a thriving NFT marketplace built on Polygon and launched in August 2021 through a partnership with NFL legend Tom Brady. Since its launch, DraftKings has released 116 NFT collections with over $44 million in sales revenue. Zero Hash is the business-to-business platform that DraftKings has chosen to collaborate with during their project to integrate NFT and crypto tokens into its client’s platforms.

Polygon: The Sports world’s choice platform

The Draftkings NFT initiative isn’t the only sports-related NFT project built on Polygon. Polygon has become the platform of choice for sports collectible platforms in more ways than one. A quick evaluation of Polygon’s value proposition shows why sports platforms favor it; a few of the reasons include its fiat-compatible marketplace, low fees, and more.

DraftKings proves that it’s ready to delve deeper into the Web3 world, and over the last few months, the moves they make look promising as to what the future might hold for this sports betting platform.
