Hello Managers,

We’re very excited to announce that Limited Cards will be launching very soon… This Friday at 11:00 AM CET.

Welcome to a New Era

Name: Limited
Colour:
Yellow
Scarcity:
1/1000
Debut season: 2021/22

The Limited cards will mark a new era for Sorare, our community and the many football fans waiting in the wings to join the Global fantasy football movement.

Over the last 6 months our focus has been to build the key foundations to launch a new scarcity. Our scaling solution, My Sorare, the new Help Centre and Dynamic Rewards are just a few of these building blocks.

Going forward, we will invest heavily to improve our customer support and our onboarding experience to open the door for the next wave of Managers. We have exciting news coming in the next few weeks.

How will Limited cards work in SO5?

GW194 will be the first Game Week in which you can use Limited Cards, giving Managers who want to take part in Division 5 a week to build their line-ups.

Limited Cards can be played in the all-new Division 5, available for Global All-Star, Global U23, Champion Europe, Challenger Europe, Champion Asia, and Champion America. We will open Division 5 in Global All-Star for GW194 and 195, and then in all tournaments starting GW196.

The rules of Division 5 are as follows:

  • 5 Limited Cards required
  • No Commons or Rares are allowed
  • The rewards will exclusively be Limited Cards
  • ETH will be rewarded for podium places

The rules and rewards of Division 4 (including thresholds) will remain unchanged for now. No Limited Cards can enter. 1 Common card is still allowed.

By default Special Weekly will remain for Rares, Super Rares, and Uniques but there may be the occasional Special Weekly event where we allow one or more, as we sometimes do with Commons.

This is the first time we have ever introduced a new scarcity. The reason we have decided on the above rules is to do everything prudently and with our current community in mind. We will carefully monitor and review the utility of all scarcities to ensure this new addition will not have a significant impact on your existing collections. Once we have enough data, we will review our analysis, your feedback and review the rules for Common Card use in Division 4.

What about Prize Pools?

For the first few Game Weeks, we will manually ramp up the number of Division 5 card rewards depending on how many eligible line-ups there are. We are doing this to ensure that we scale properly and are inline with the reward ratios set in Division 4.

Once we feel we have enough eligible line-ups and Managers taking part in Division 5, Limited Cards will join the Dynamic Rewards system.

What’s happening with the referral program?

For anyone who signs up after the launch of the Limited Cards, they will earn a Limited Card after 5 cards bought on the New Card Auctions. For anyone who signed up before, you will still earn a Rare Card for purchasing 5 cards.

5 cards bought on in New Card Auctions = 1 Limited Card for the referral and referrer

This is only temporary. We have been working hard on a new and more exciting referral program where you can earn different card scarcities depending on the number of referrals you’re making.

So what next?

As always, a big thank you to our community for your support and feedback. We wouldn’t be where we are today without you. This is one of the biggest milestones in Sorare’s history. It makes us more inclusive, accessible, opening the door to waves of football fans ready to launch their Sorare journeys. Get ready to welcome them to the club! #OwnYourGame

We have more exciting announcements just around the corner!
