This Thursday The Sandbox will organize the fourth Summer Jam land sale, and this time it has Metakey as its partner. In addition the Bonsai NFTs from ZenFT and Ethlings have joined the partner line-up. In total The Sandbox will sell 1,120 land parcels, while they will auction 8 estates on OpenSea.
The land sale for The Sandbox will start on July 15th at 1PM UTC. They will sell 840 land parcels for 1,011 SAND, while 280 premium LAND parcels will sell for 4,683 SAND.
The land sales will function a little bit different from previous ones. First of all, The Sandbox has increased their server capacity. In addition the team has added extra security checks by Cloudflare, to make sure all transactions are done by humans. Furthermore, to improve map loading the website will only load the land that’s for sale. In conclusion they will also introduce a queueing system, so that itchy-clicky fingers don’t get all the rewards.
A quick explanation about Metakey
Metakey is the main partner for today’s sale. They’ve sold 3 waves of NFT keys so far, and the idea is that holders of these keys get access to all kinds of free content and airdrops. For example, key holders already received Decentraland wearables. In addition the Game Maker allows users to create interactivity on their virtual land. The Sandbox will also create a meta gaming experience. Players can for example do daily quests or weekly quests for their guild. This will earn players SAND, which they can sell or use to buy in-game items or virtual land.
Last week they announced a partnership with Skybound Entertainment, bringing The Walking Dead into the voxel world of The Sandbox. This is one of many partnerships, as The Smurfs, Care Bears and other brands will also join.
