‘Green NFT’ firm OneOf teams up with global climate alliance

This post was originally published on musically

We reported in May on the launch of OneOf, a company backed by $63m of seed funding (not to mention Quincy Jones) that was aiming to make environmentally sustainable NFTs with music artists. Doja Cat, Jacob Collier, G-Eazy and the estate of Whitney Houston are among its first partners.

The launch of its platform is still to come – this summer, says the company – but it is building some other partnerships ahead of that debut. It has been chosen as the ‘preferred NFT partner’ of the Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance, a body that runs events and concerts to raise awareness of climate emergency issues.

The deal will involve a portion of OneOf’s revenues being donated to global climate change programs, as well as other ways of working with the alliance. Concerns about the environmental impact have been putting off some artists from exploring NFTs, so if OneOf and other companies trying to tackle these issues can make progress, it will be a positive thing.
