We’ve been happy to work with the ETH2 team to make the mainnet deposit contract available via the ENS name depositcontract.eth.

This works in two ways:

  1. The name’s Addresses ETH record resolves to the deposit contract address, 0x00000000219ab540356cBB839Cbe05303d7705Fa. This means that a person can easily interact with the deposit contract using the name depositcontract.eth.
  2. The UI for interacting with the deposit contract is available at depositcontract.eth/ if you have MetaMask, Opera, Brave, Status, or another ENS-enabled browser, or at for everyone else. To enable easy management and bug fixes for the ETH2 team, depositcontract.eth/ simply redirects to

What about security? To guard against phishing, we renewed the name until the year 2150 then burned ownership of the name (set Registrant and Controller to 0x000…dEaD). No one can change the records anymore, which means you can always count on the name pointing to the places it currently does.

Happy staking!
